Gelato Secrets, Bali

Yet another gelato shop in the island of gods! Found in 2009, Gelato Secrets was first established in Ubud and now they have had 3 stores in Bali (Ubud, Sanur and Seminyak). They claim to use only 100% natural, fresh ingredients without any artificial coloring, flavoring and preservative. Today I happened to visit Gelato Secrets' branch in Seminyak to treat myself to something sweet after long hours of work. The shop looks sweet with pinkish interior. They had quite an extensive selection of flavors, such as salted butter caramel, rocky road, bamboo charcoal and coconut pandan.

Milk Chocolate with Brownie Bites Gelato - IDR30,000 (single scoop)

I settled for the milk chocolate with brownie bites after sampling about 4 kinds of flavor. I was surprised to see the small scooping size, which was not visible from outside the cup lol (yeah, I slightly tilted the cup for picture taking so you could see a bit of the inside). Despite the small portion, the taste made up for it. The milk chocolate flavor was creamy but fresh and not jelat. There were also some chewy brownie bites inside (I love chewy stuff!).

Gelato Secrets is the right place to beat the heat of Bali in the afternoon. Although the price for a single scoop gelato is tad expensive (compared to Gusto, where you can get 2-flavored ice cream at just IDR22,000), I think it is worth getting once in a while. The place is non-airconed, but it has ceiling fans and great for people watching as it is located on the busy stretch of Jl. Petitenget. By the way, I could not find the complete address of this shop, but you can make your way to Seminyak Square and look out for Gelato Secrets sign somewhere nearby on the opposite side. Or you can just Google Maps it lah haha.
