Lola's Cafe, Singapore

The location of Lola's Cafe is very accessible, only a short walking distance from Kovan MRT. This heartland cafe gains so much popularity that it is almost impossible not to see people queuing in front of its door (they even have a queue machine!). Despite coming at around 8.30pm, we still had to wait to get indoor seats (there are 2 vacant outdoor seats but we did not want to feed mosquitoes haha). The layout of the cafe is rather squeezy - typical Singapore cafe lol.

Iced Chocolate - $6
Their iced chocolate tasted milky and chocolatey, neither too bitter nor too sweet. A great complement to our savory meal.

Iced Uji Matcha Green Tea Latte - $6.50
Not the best green tea latte I had ever tasted, but still a decent one.

Crispy Chicken Burger with Purple Slaw - $14
The purple slaw looked unique to me as I had never had coleslaw with purple cabbage before. The chicken was not very crispy but the chicken leg meat was tender and well-seasoned, matching well with the nacho cheese sauce. The fries was just normal, would be nicer if it was saltier.

Confit of Duck Leg with Honey Mustard Sauce - $17
It tasted exactly like Indonesian fried duck, except that it was less oily haha. The honey mustard sauce gave a sweet touch to the savory duck meat, they complemented each other very well.

I would love to patronize this cafe again for brunch, since I came down during dinner time and thus I could only choose from their dinner menu. Judging from what I had, their food was mediocre but reasonably-priced. The service was friendly and prompt too, I was quite surprised to see my food came before the drink lol.
