Kooffee+ Roofbar, Surabaya
Hey ho! I'm back in Surabaya (#hometownrocks) and I just tried one of the most happening cafes in the city, Kooffee+ Roofbar. Kooffee+ is located inside G Suites Hotel, on the 11th floor to be precise. Ideal time to visit? Hmm, I gotta say both day and night time are good. It may be a little bit stifling during the daytime but you will get nice lighting. When the night falls, your eyes will be pampered by the wonderful view of Surabaya skyline and city lights.
The place is not too big, but the interior looks very lively and cheerful. I really fancy those graffitis on the wall!
Our seat was located at a kinda secluded corner, but it was close to the pool so we got an easy access there. There was no chair - we literally sat on the grassy staircase with a cushion pad haha. We love that big mirror attached on the wall, perfect for camwhoring!
The menu is quite extensive, ranging from appetizer, main course to dessert. All menus are reasonably priced, but bear in mind that there will be 21% tax and service charge since it is a part of hotel establishment.
Chocolate Cake Shake - IDR48,000
We shared a glass of the famous 'cake shake' (just realized we ordered happening stuff at a happening cafe haha). By the way, this cake shake was not listed yet on the menu - I was glad that the staff had introduced this to us. Kooffee+'s rendition came in 4 flavors: banana, chocolate, pineapple and strawberry. Initially we wanted to get the banana one, but the staff said it was unavailable that day, thus we switched to chocolate. It was not as sinful as Benjamin Browns' or Cake Spade's which contains abundant dose of sugar from brownies and red velvet cake; Kooffee+'s cake shake looks a bit dull with only 2 pieces of donut, looking cheap, and sadly also tasted cheap. Speaking about the drink itself? Well, it tasted exactly like chocolate Pop Ice (instant sachet drink) with ice cream added in.
Green Tea Frappe - IDR35,000
This was a disappointment. There was no distinct matcha taste and it was kinda watered down. I felt queasy after drinking this one.
Pancake Oreo - IDR50,000
The fact that they serve the pancake on a wooden board has made this dish photogenic! Consisting of 2 thick pancakes, topped with Nutella, Oreo crumbs and a tiny slice of strawberry, I got very full eating this dish alone. The pancakes were served warm and fluffy, but I felt there was a lack of Nutella spread.
Introducing Instagram's most famous floating duck! My reason to visit Kooffee+ is none other than to take pics with this #bebekkekinian hahaha *evil grin*. Before hopping onto this float, the staff will remind us to take off our watch, ring and shoes. Don't worry about falling down (although there is always a possibility to fall since the float is very shaky haha), it is tied with a rope and the staff will assist you to get onto the float and hold the rope all the time. I could feel my feet trembling while trying to get onto the duck haha, but the photo-taking results are totally worth it (check them below lol).
It was a great experience at Kooffee+! Being located in a hotel, I could feel the warm hospitality from the staffs, they were all approachable and friendly (one of them patiently waited for us even we took so long to finish our photosession lol). The food was not truly impressive but the price was pretty reasonable for hotel standard.
