[Outlet Closed] Sukimura, Surabaya

Sukimura is restaurant in Transmart Rungkut that distances themselves from the pricey image of typical suki restaurants in town. With its bright and warm ambiance, it seems like an ideal place for a family dining without having to burn a hole in your pockets. Indeed, this is because suki is often related to family gathering.

Lemon Tea - IDR9,800
The lemon tea was so so but it tasted so refreshing to drink after a hot meal.

Lychee Tea - IDR16,800
Served in a tall glass, the lychee tea came with lychee syrup and 2 pieces of fresh lychee fruit.

The food here is divided to 4 plates: pink (IDR8,800), green (IDR15,800), orange (IDR17,800), and grill (IDR19,800). For our suki, we picked some wontons, meatballs, caisim, instant noodles, beancurd, chicken and beef slices.

We had our suki cooked with dual base of tom yum and beef stock. There was nothing superior about both bases, although I like the tom yum more as the beef one tasted too MSG-ed. My favorite item was the chicken wonton, which was generously filled and went well with the tom yum soup. The chicken meatballs were good too, they were bouncy and pleasant to bite.

The beef and chicken slices were all fresh. It tasted better when eaten together with the yakiniku sauce since the meat was rather tasteless to eat on its own.

Condiments and sauces were important aspects in suki. My favorite here are crushed garlic and yakiniku sauce.

I had a remarkable dining experience here, mainly because I loved suki and the quality that Sukimura offered had exceeded my expectation. The staffs were amicable and they gladly assisted us with the grilling/cooking process.
