Petrichor, Surabaya
New players continue to join the cafe scene in Surabaya, so does Petrichor. Petrichor is located on Jl. Manyar Kertoadi, which is a quite less known area for cafe-hopping. From Galaxy Mall, go straight down on MERR Ringroad, then turn left before Hartono building. Look for Petrichor sign on your left.
We visited Petrichor on a Saturday at around 11am. The cafe has indoor and outdoor seating (of course we chose to sit indoor). It was empty when we came and the long table beside mine was being decorated for bridal shower in the afternoon.

The coffee here was pretty good and not too acidic. I got no complaint. The latte art looks kinda wrong though haha (ignore my random thought pls).
Iced Mochacinno - IDR31,000
The iced mocha possessed rich chocolate and robust coffee flavor. It was not cloyingly sweet as well. Mom seemed to enjoy it a lot.

Ordered by my brother, the rice was al dente and each grain was infused with mushroom flavor. But still, risotto had never been my cup of tea.

Pasta Aglio Olio - IDR35,000
They sell some kinds of spaghetti here, of which I chose aglio olio with mild spiciness level. The dish is garnished with garlic, chili, parsley, mushrooms and smoked beef. It was savory and the garlic flavor came through well, but apparently the so-called mild spiciness was still too much for my weak stomach to bear.

One whole round of waffle was cut into 4 pieces, stacked up on a plate with each layer spread with Nutella. The exterior could be crispier, while the interior was quite soft to chew.
On a different occasion, I invited my friends for my birthday dinner at Petrichor. I had my dinner table decorated with galaxy theme by a party planner service.

Meat Lover Pizza - IDR65,000
The pizza here was the crispy-crusted type. I love how generous they were with the cheese. As for the toppings, I honestly demanded more for such price. It only consisted of a few slices of pepperoni and mushroom; how could they name it 'Meat Lover'?
Uncle G's Burger - IDR40,000
The beef patty was thick and tender, topped with sunny side up with the yolk that oozed out, then served with fries and onion rings as the sides.

The grilled chicken turned out to be tender and juicy, and it already tasted good to eat without the sauce. The fries were also well-seasoned and crispy.
The prices at Petrichor were reasonable and the food was decent, albeit nothing really outstanding. There is definitely a room for improvement to survive in the long run. Overall, I still recommend you to give this cafe a visit if you reside or happen to be in the area.
