Platform 1094, Singapore

Calling out all wizards and muggles out there! If you want to experience some magical moments in this ordinary world, do come to Platform 1094. This place is not associated with platform 9¾, but it is a Harry Potter-inspired cafe in Serangoon Road, located within a short walk from Bendemeer MRT.

The interior is decked out with warm brown color, wooden floors and tiled walls. They also have wooden tables that look like the communal dining table in Hogwarts dining room (although it is not as long as Hogwarts' one).

Mr. Lich's Flaming Brew - $15

The drink here is divided into two categories: potion (non-alcoholic) and poison (alcoholic). We had Mr. Lich's Flaming Brew which belonged to the second category. Apparently, almost every reviewer of this cafe ordered this drink. The drink came in form of Blue Curacao and lime juice. A staff then performed us a 'magical trick'. He poured a spoonful of rum into the drink and ignited it with a torch. Cinnamon powder was then sprinkled to make the flaming effect. It was a magical sight to see haha. The staff then left the cinnamon powder for us to 'play with' for a while. My friend told me not to sprinkle too much, scared it would ruin the taste haha. I could not really taste the liquor though. The drink tasted just like lime soda in blue color. You really pay for the experience here haha.

Chocolate Blackout - $7.90

We only ordered one slice of cake to share as we had binge-eaten before. This cake is perfect for chocoholics! The cake was dense, layered with thick chocolate fudge. It tasted as sinful as it looked, but the chocolate flavor might be overwhelming that one person could not handle it by themselves.

The highlight of this cafe is perhaps the wizard-style photo opportunity. Feel free to dress up in your favorite robe, pick up a wand and pose like you are a Hogwarts student! No magic is allowed outside Hogwarts indeed, but at least there will be nobody to judge you.

Overall, Platform 1094 is a fun place to bring out the magical side in you. Who knows you are actually a wizard? Kidding. I personally wish that the ambiance could be more magical though, but this place is still worth checking out if you are a Harry Potter fan like me.
