Random Eats: January - March 2017

Item: Belgian Waffle Combo with a Scoop of Belgian Chocolate Ice Cream - $7
Location: Habitat Coffee (Upper Thomson Road, Singapore)
The waffle was decent (I had better ones elsewhere). It was thick, dense, and went along well with the chocolate sauce. The Belgian chocolate ice cream that I chose tasted boring, just like normal chocolate ice cream I usually had. You might want to share the waffle as it was pretty big in terms of size.

Item (left to right): Chocolate Chip Cookie - $1.40 // Macadamia Nut Cookie - $1.40
Location: Subway (AMK Hub, Singapore)
Other than nice sandwiches, Subway makes good cookies too. Their cookie is big and it contains some choco chips or chopped nuts inside. It is freshly baked to assure the quality and taste.

Item: Golden Deal 2 - $6.20
Location: Long John Silver's (Westgate, Singapore)
Actually this set comes with a choice of soft drink, but I upgraded it to Milo for an additional 50 cents. In this set menu, I got a piece of battered fish, 2 chicken tenders, fries, and a glass of iced Milo. The fish was soft - however, it was hard to cut using the plastic knife haha. The chicken tender was juicy as well, while the fries was just mediocre. Overall, it was filling and value for money.

Item: Chicken Cutlet with Rice - $4.50
Location: Frankie's Place Coffeeshop (Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, Singapore)
The chicken meat was seasoned and fried to golden brown. It was served with yellow rice, coleslaw and mayonnaise. The portion was quite filling. The chicken cutlet was crispy and juicy, but the overall taste of the dish was just average.

Item: Green Tea Ice Cream with Cookie Crumb - $6.90 (single scoop)
Location: Haagen-Dazs (Esplanade Mall, Singapore)
Cookie crumb topping was added to the ice cream for $1. This was superb! Never thought green tea and cookie crumbs would result in such a heavenly combination!

Item: Pocky Panda - $2.40
Location: Singapore
This special edition Pocky contains chocolate sticks covered in cookies and cream coating. The cream and chocolate stick melt together perfectly, suitable for cookies and cream addict like me.

Item: Pocky Tsubu Tsubu - $2.50
Location: Singapore
The coating has pretty pink color and flecks of strawberry flesh. The taste was sweet with intense strawberry flavor.

Item: Bourbon Cake
Location: Gourmand Deli (St. Regis Bali Resort, Bali)
This cake is perfect for chocoholics. It was sinful, rich, decadent and it totally cured my chocolate fix. The texture was super soft and it tasted chocolatey without being overly sweet.

Item: Chatime Milk Tea with Pearl - IDR27,000 (regular size)
Location: Chatime (Nusa Dua Square, Bali)
Chatime's milk tea is always my safe choice. It is refreshing and the pearls are so enjoyable to chew.

Item: Classic Cheese Pizza
Location: Domino's Pizza (Discovery Shopping Mall, Bali)
I was excited to try Domino's Pizza for the first time as there was no Domino's back in Surabaya. I love that layer of toasted mozzarella cheese on top of the pizza. The crust was not very tough or doughy too. A perfect beachside treat!

Item: Salted Egg Chicken Rice - IDR25,000
Location: Satisfy (bazaar in Surabaya)
The rice was still hot and the egg was freshly fried upon ordering, whereby I requested it half-cooked. The distinct flavor of the salted egg yolk was present albeit slightly subtle. The salted egg sauce was more like coating rather than sauce - it tasted okay but I had tasted better ones.

Item: Pearl Milk Tea - IDR25,000 (medium size)
Location: T4 (Ruko Plaza Graha Family, Surabaya)
I got the original plain milk tea with pearls. The tea was fresh and fragrant. The pearls were just okay. Overall, it is comparable to Chatime in terms of quality.
