Random Eats: October - December 2016

Item: Assorted Breakfast
Location: Harris Hotel Seminyak (Seminyak, Bali)
The buffet spread was extensive enough, but my favorite was the thick and smokey bacon. The pancake was not freshly made - it was already cold. The cereal station could be better in varieties, not just limited to corn flakes and Koko Krunch.

Item (middle): J.Cool Yogurt (single size)
Item (right): Caramel Frappe - IDR39,000 (duo size)
Location: J.Co Donuts & Coffee (Nusa Dua Square, Bali)
As usual, J.Co froyo never fails, except that the mochi was rather tough in texture. And it's funny how a caramel frappe did not taste caramel enough to me. Anyway, it was still refreshing to drink amidst Bali scorching weather. It came with free glazzy donut too (yay to free stuff).

Item: Black Tea Mousse with Pearl - IDR27,000 (regular size)
Location: Chatime (Nusa Dua Square, Bali)
Super love the mousse cream! It was slightly salty and complemented the tea so well.

Item: Pork Sausage with French Fries and Mushroom Sauce
Location: The Daily (Jl. Dewi Sri, Bali)
The pork sausages were tender and juicy, albeit slightly charred. The mushroom sauce was lacking in mushroom taste, but it was creamy enough and good to pair with the meat.

Item: Hainanese Chicken Rice
Location: Paper Planes (Jl. Nuansa Utama, Bali)
Paper Planes serves classic Malaysian favorites like Hainanese chicken rice, laksa and roti canai. The chicken rice was quite authentic. The de-boned meat given was tender and chopped quite thickly. Enough to cure my crave for chicken rice.

Item: Regal Milk - IDR18,000
Location: Nyo Nyo (Jl. Uluwatu 2, Bali)
I could not really taste the Regal biscuit here. It was more like vanilla milk topped with Koko Krunch toppings.

Item: Nasi Campur Bali - IDR35,000
Location: Ayam Betutu Khas Gilimanuk Bali (Sentral Parkir Kuta, Bali)
I think this place is overrated. I did not see something special with their food except the big portion.

Item: Martabak 8 Rasa - IDR80,000
Location: Markobar (Jl. Pucang Anom Timur, Surabaya)
Markobar is owned by Kaesang Pangarep, the youngest son of Indonesian president Joko Widodo. Frankly speaking, I tried Markobar just because I was curious how a president's-son-owned martabak would taste haha. For IDR80,000, you will get 8 slices of martabak with 8 different toppings, so it is IDR10,000 per slice. Not only droolsome-looking, Markobar's martabak is also yummy! It is neither too thick nor too thin. I love all toppings they put there (there were Delfi, Silver Queen Chunky Bar, Cadbury Dairy Milk, Nutella, Ceres sprinkles, KitKat, Kraft cheese, and Toblerone), but my favorite was the KitKat one. Well, considering that they use only premium toppings, the price is pretty fair. Thankfully it lives up to its hype. And please don't start counting the calories intake. You will get 8 different kinds of chocolate plus condensed milk drizzling - I hope it does not scare you!

Item: Thai Tea - IDR22,000
Location: Dum Dum Authentic Thai Tea (Tunjungan Plaza 3, Surabaya)
This is by far the best Thai tea in Surabaya. It had the right amount of milkiness and it is not too sweet as well.
