Lumer+, Surabaya
Surabaya has no lack of eating places, and it seems that every place tries to outdo one another with new concepts and Instagrammable spots. Lumer+ is a brand new concept from Lumer Cafe, a budget-friendly cafe that already has its own loyal customers. It is located on Jl. Dharmahusada, not far from SuperIndo.
The dining system here requires you to place your order directly and pay at the cashier, then you will get a table number and just wait for your food to be served. This is generally acceptable as the place gets crowded most of the time. Ambiance wise, Lumer+ is definitely cozier than its predecessor.
The outdoor area of Lumer+ offers the summertime vibe with flamingo neon sign and cactus ornament. It feels like some beach clubs in Bali.
Chocolate Bubble - IDR14,500
Although it tasted very much like Pop Ice, this drink did not disappoint (I love Pop Ice btw). The milkiness was good and the chocolate flavor was not overpowering. However, the bubbles were inconsistent; some were chewy while some others were not.

It had a faint strawberry flavor but it was quite refreshing and milky.

Bohay Carbonara Spaghetti - IDR15,000
It was a confusing dish as the pasta was cooked with crispy chicken bites. The carbonara sauce was just bland white cream sauce. Could not complain as it was just IDR15,000.

Chicken Mozza with Mushroom Sauce - IDR15,000
(Again) priced at just IDR15,000, you can expect to find some unpleasant aspects here. The chicken meat was overcooked, dry, and stone-hard. Fries were soggy. The mushroom sauce tasted okay but it did not help bettering the whole dish.
Overall, the primary attraction of this place is just its Instagenic look. Honestly, the food was way too pedestrian - this is pretty much reasonable given the cheap price tags. After all, it is nice to have new dining options in town and the millenials are undoubtedly more attracted to the place than the food itself.
