Starbucks Special Edition

As you know, Starbucks often launches special edition drinks for a limited time. These drinks are not written on the menu board and they are made for special occasions like Halloween and Christmas. I'm a fan of Starbucks' frappuccino and it always gets me excited every time Starbucks launch new special edition frappuccino in store. What makes me happier is that they also give out special price voucher for LINE users, so with this voucher we can enjoy the tall-sized special edition drinks for only IDR25,000 to IDR29,000. The coupon is usually valid for 2 days at most.

Below is the list of special edition drinks that I have tried in Starbucks:

Kopi Susu Frappuccino
Kopi susu, which literally means milk coffee has become popular in Indonesia recently. Starbucks' rendition of kopi susu frappe is easily likable due to its creaminess and well-balanced flavor. Great for those who do not like their coffee acid and strong.

Brown Sugar'olla Frappuccino
It is actually just regular iced latte blend with brown sugar crystals topping. The brown sugar gave a unique sweet taste but then I felt a strange coconut aftertaste lol.

ChocoRilla Frappuccino
It is a mix of chocolate, hazelnut, whipped cream and caramel sauce. I could not really detect the hazelnut flavor and the caramel sauce was overpowering.

Frappula Frappuccino
In the promotional picture it looks like a vampire-inspired drink with red layer, but in reality it turned out rather pinkish. This frappuccino is made of mocha, white chocolate and raspberry sauce. I like the fragrant flavor of raspberry - it tasted good with mocha and white chocolate.

Choco Brownies Frappuccino
Chocoholic will approve this! It is a blend of chocolate cookie syrup, dolce sauce and java chip, finished with whipped cream. Too bad it did not have real brownie chunks in it haha.

Molten Chocolate Cake Frappuccino
Being a coffee person, I added single shot espresso for IDR6,000 to my chocolate frappe. With a mix of melted choco chips, milk and rich mocha syrup, what is not to love about this drink?!

Raspberry Latte
This cute pink-colored drink has a good deed behind it. 10% of the beverage sales will be donated to Lovepink movement - a community that acts as a center for information, service and support around breast cancer issues. The drink itself tasted okay to me - it could do better with stronger raspberry taste.

Nebula Cosmic Frappuccino
Following the unicorn and galaxy trend, Starbucks decided to jump on the bandwagon with this Nebula Cosmic Frappe. Tbh I was skeptical ordering this since usually aesthetic drink does not taste as good as it looks right? It turned out pretty decent - it was tart and it had a hint of sweet taro flavor. Thank God the drink did not look so bright like unicorn frappe coz I could not imagine the amount of coloring used to make the drink!

Midnight Mocha Frappuccino
This drink is made with milk, whipped cream, vanilla syrup, coffee syrup and dark mocha powder. The taste of chocolate stood out more than coffee, which I personally found delightful.

Holiday French Vanilla Creme Frappuccino
The whipped cream looks so cute with the pastel blue color right? Anyway, it tasted just okay with a weak vanilla flavor.

Cranberry White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino
This is a seasonal drink (available during Christmas season only). It is a mix of coffee, white chocolate sauce, milk, ice, with whipped cream and cranberry sauce. The chocolate flavor was dominating and I could not taste the cranberry here. Overall, this drink was overly sweet in my opinion.
