This is by far the best 'kue artis' I have ever tasted. The red velvet cake was soft and was not excessively sweet, combined with savory cream cheese and topped with Oreo crumbs. I prefer it to be served chilled as the cream cheese would slightly froze and the Oreo would get sticky so it is less messy to eat.

Nutella Patata - IDR70,000
The name ‘patata’ indicates the use of potato in the cake. It is hard not to fall in love with this Nutella Patata - imagine Nutella-centered cake with light cream and crushed nuts... Since it was made of potato, the cake was so soft and filling. Oh ya, store the patata in the fridge, eat it chilled and thank me later. It tasted shiokkkkk! Besides, it can last longer by 3 days compared to when it is stored in the room temperature (it lasts around 3-4 days).

I bet the name of this cake is derived from Lee Min Ho lol. Le Mint Ho was described to be having mint sauce in the middle, but I was sort of got scammed since I could not detect any minty flavor. The lemon taste was strong by the way, it was refreshing and a little sour.

Right: Suro Boyo Choco Cheese - IDR69,000
If you want safer option, go for this choco cheese cake. It has scrumptious biscuit crumbs in the middle, topped with chocolate sprinkles and grated cheese. It was not overly sweet too and the cream was light in my mouth.

Cheese in Wonderland - IDR69,000
This is by far the best variant among the others. It looks pretty in striking pink color, although I'm a little bit paranoid with the excessive use of food coloring. The sponge cake surprisingly remained moist even after a whole day outside the fridge. It has cream cheese layer in the middle, topped with abundant grated cheese and cheddar cheese bites - all cheese lovers will definitely go gaga for it.

What differentiates Gempikoe from other kue artis is that they include a piece of Surabaya-themed key-chain inside the packaging, so you can give this box of cake to other people as a gift too. The choco mocca cake looked rather unassuming but it was pretty good. The choco mocca flavor was intense and rich.

IDR47,000 for a box of 10 bakpias might sound pricey, but I super loved it! Inside, there was a generous amount of milk that tasted like powdered milk (read: susu Dancow) which I fancied. The milkiness, however, could be too heavy for those who do not consume milk.
