Rustic Market, Surabaya

Rustic Market is a cafe located within the space of Barn Event Hire. You may rent this area for photoshoot or event like wedding reception or birthday party. The cafe itself is small and rather cramp, showcasing vintage decoration and household ornaments that makes a good sight to see. From outside it looks like a cabin in the wood - for a second I actually forgot that I was in Surabaya.

Let me inform you in advance, this place is SUPER HOT! Literally hot and aircon does not help. Oh ya, they also have a policy of 'cellphone camera only', which means you may not bring a professional camera (i.e. DSLR and mirrorless) as they will charge you for that.

Ice Matcha - IDR25,000

The iced matcha was pleasant with just-right level of sweetness.

Ice Latte - IDR25,000

The coffee here was generic without any unique trait.

Spaghetti Aglio Olio - IDR30,000

The food here is not costly at all, which I find surprising. The spaghetti that I ordered was good, except that the pasta was still rather watery. The seasoning was tasty and the smoked beef slices were generous.

Roasted Chicken with Rosemary Sauce - IDR35,000

The chicken was big and it was served with potatoes and cherry tomatoes. The meat was well-seasoned and the sauce kinda reminded me of 'semur'. The overall dish was not fantastic but certainly not bad at all at that price point.

There is nothing fancy or exciting about the food and drink at Rustic Market, but they are all value for money so I don't complain. Service was average at best. As long as you do not expect above average gourmet food, you will not be disappointed with this place.
