Heli Lounge Bar, Kuala Lumpur

Let me tell you about a best-kept secret in Kuala Lumpur (well it is no longer a secret since it has already appeared in my blog lol). When you happen to be in KL, pay a visit to Heli Lounge Bar for a magnificent view of the city skyline. This helipad bar (yes, this bar is literally a helipad by day) is situated on the rooftop of Menara KH in the heart of Bukit Bintang. Menara KH is where INTI College is also located, and you can reach this place within a short walk from Pavilion KL.

We arrived at Heli Lounge Bar when it just opened at 5pm and we figured out many tables were already reserved. We did not get a seat, just one standing table - thankfully we got a table close to the edge or the helipad where nobody blocked the view yet haha. It was raining heavily in the morning and we kept our fingers crossed, hopping that the weather would be in our favor by the time Heli Lounge Bar opened. Thankfully, it no longer rained after 2pm although the haze was still there. I could still witness the sun went down over the skyline.

The view was so amazing that I kept my phone camera ready all the time. It would be much more beautiful if the sky was bright and blue. You can get 360 degree panoramic view of KL, including the 2 landmarks: KL Tower and Petronas Twin Towers.

Every visitor should order at least a drink from the menu. Before you start thinking that the drinks are expensive (before tax), remember that you are paying for a lifetime experience drinking on a helipad. We did not order booze as it was too early haha. Both drinks tasted so so though.

Overall, Heli Lounge Bar is a perfect place to capture the view of KL city skyline while sipping on a drink and get immersed in the international crowd (I think 85% of the visitors here were ang moh). I really enjoyed the high life up there at the Heli Lounge Bar - moreover, it was my first time going on a helipad. The drinks and service were just average. Do take note that the place turns into a nightclub after 9pm, where a strict dress code is enforced (no sandals and for gentlemen, just wear shirt and you will be fine).
