There is no doubt that Korean BBQ meal is the best way to bond with your loved ones, be it family, friends or partner. You might smell like smoke at the end of the meal but it is the best way to spend some quality time with them while cooking your food. One of the most patronized KBBQ restaurants in Surabaya is probably Sadang Korean BBQ on Jl. Pregolan. This restaurant that has been around for quite a while, and they have both AYCE and ala carte menus.
As a common practice in every Korean restaurant, there is plenty of banchan to nibble on while awaiting the main dish to arrive. These banchan may look simple, but they are very enjoyable! I especially love the baby potatoes and macaroni.

Sadang is one of the few KBBQ in Surabaya that uses charcoal and not gas. I like the charcoal more since I can feel the authentic charred flavor of the meat. Suctions are available above every table to reduce the smoky and greasy smell. They actually worked well as we were able to leave the restaurant with minimum smell haha.
The beef bulgogi was really good! The meat came in quite big serving, which I found value for money. Wrap those meats in the lettuce, pop them into your mouth and feel the enjoyment!
Budae Jigae - IDR95,000
The army stew came in raw form and the staff cooked it on the spot with a big pan, so we could enjoy it bubbling-hot. The stew had lots of ingredient in it, such as noodles, tofu, mushrooms, spam, onion and prawns. It had balanced spicy-sour kimchi flavor from the soup, although I had tasted better one before. Imagine the shiokness if you enjoy it during winter!
