Hoshino Coffee, Singapore

Originated from Japan, Hoshino Coffee is a cafe serving Japanese-style cafe grub and coffee. In Singapore, it has 5 outlets, whereby I visited the Suntec City one. The place looks cozy and there is a button on every table for customers to call the staff if you need their assistance.

Ice Royal Milk Tea - $7.50
Overpriced, period. Drink it with your eyes closed and you would not be able to differentiate it with instant milk tea. Furthermore, it tasted rather diluted and bland. I could buy 3 cups of Gong Cha milk tea with the same amount of money. Such a daylight robbery.

Ice Matcha Latte with Ice Cream - $9.30
If only it did not come at a hefty price tag, I would have this drink on a weekly basis. It was just so good and it contained rich matcha goodness.

Pancake Souffle Style with Strawberry - $14.50 (single)
Not sure whether this menu was a permanent one, but it came under spring special offer. First of all, I love the presentation. Anything with strawberry could hardly look ugly. Second, the souffle pancake deserves a praise. It is pillowy, fluffy and buttery. The tangy berries went really well with the fresh cream, ice cream and the pancake itself.

The staffs here were really nice and courteous, they also refilled the water promptly without being asked. This is probably a result of the 'rewarding system' whereby guests can vote for a particular staff whose service is satisfying to them, so they are sort of, uhm, motivated to give good customer service? There is a voting board at the cashier with the photos of all on-duty staffs, and customers will vote by pasting a sticker under each staff's photo. Well, I don't mind paying service charge for good service like that, and I will be back for their desserts, although the price is not completely friendly for pocket.
