[Closed] Loko Cafe, Surabaya
I could not recall when was the last time I went to a train station, but I think it was more than 2 years ago. Oh well, if you think train station is just a place to go when you travel by train, you are wrong! In the new Gubeng Train Station (Stasiun Gubeng Baru), dwells a cafe called Loko Cafe. Among other eateries in this train station, Loko Cafe stands out thanks to its Instagrammable industrial-style exterior. It is situated by the railway, but you do not need any entrance fee to get into the platform area even if you are not a train passenger.
Es Bonex - IDR20,000
This drink is made of melon syrup, lime and soda water. Be ready to get 'electrified' by this fizzy drink!
Iced Lychee Tea - IDR15,000
Spaghetti Bolognese - IDR22,000
It was kinda disappointing, frankly speaking. The portion was damn small for the price and the sauce was tasteless.
Nasi Goreng Rawon - IDR25,000
Fried rice with rawon seasoning? Why not! I really felt like eating rawon in form of fried rice. The savory taste from the kluwek (keluak or pangium edule) was strong and the beef slices given were quite generous too.
Yeap, it may sound shocking but Loko Cafe is government-owned. Who would ever think that such trendy cafe like this is run by BUMN (state-owned business)?! Bottom note, Loko Cafe is a place you can always run to when you are in need for cheap and decent food in cozy ambiance.
