8 Korean BBQ, Singapore

On a Wednesday night, my friend and I and I headed to Clarke Quay. We felt like eating Korean BBQ and the nearest Korean restaurant was 8 Korean BBQ, so yeah, we had our dinner there. I like the ambiance, the rustic interior with brown brick wall gave us warmth. We can store our bags inside the round-shaped chair, how unique! There are 8 TVs screening K-Pop MVs (it feels like heaven for me), but the volume could be a bit louder haha.

There is not much variety of menu, and note that the Korean BBQ here is not buffet (what a pity, I personally prefer buffet one). For the BBQ, there is no chicken meat here - only pork and beef. We had chargeable plain water which came in a bottle (typical Korean restaurant).

Pomegranate Soju - $20
To complete our Korean dinner experience, we ordered a bottle of pomegranate-infused soju. It was a kicking yet refreshing drink.

As usual, we were given some banchan (side dishes) to start

Unable to live without rice, we also ordered two bowls of white rice to go with the BBQ

4 Colours Set - $58
This set allows us to choose 4 flavors out of 8 flavors available. All flavors are ranked from the lightest to heaviest: wine, original, ginseng, garlic, smoked, herb, curry, miso, red pepper paste. We chose wine, original, smoked, and red pepper paste. At first I resisted to try the red pepper paste one since I could not take spicy food. But the staff said it was not that spicy. If you have ever tried gochujang (the red sauce used in bibimbap), it is exactly how it tastes like. Those pork belly slabs were thick! Here, instead of grilling the meat by ourselves, the staff will grill it for us so no need to worry for burning your meat haha. Among the four flavors, I like wine the most. The pork itself was juicy, thick yet tender.

Beef Kimchi Stew - $18
The kimchi stock was flavorful. Unfortunately, the beef was too little and they put in too much cabbage (duh, it's kimchi stew).

We really enjoyed our dinner here, although I still prefer buffet-style Korean BBQ. The staffs were friendly and attentive as well, they offered us some Sticky candies at the cashier before leaving.
