[Closed] Goodstone Dine, Surabaya
Goodstone Dine is yet another F&B joint on Jl. Opak. The premise is very spacious, suitable for large group gathering or event. The menus here are pretty much similar to other bistros or cafes; most of them are pasta, pizza, salad, and poultry. They also have varieties of coffee and beer for you to choose from.
As you can see in pics above, Goodstone's interior design is quite attention-grabbing with the use of floral and fauna-themed wallpapers
Seriously, it was my first time having Americano with ice cream (it should be renamed to Americano float, no?). But who could resist coffee and ice cream together? They blended well and created a life-saver combination for this scorching hot day.
The caffeine kick was rather muted here. Tbh, I could not differentiate this drink with cappuccino as the foam was too thick to be called latte.
The salad consists of Romaine & iceberg lettuce, grilled chicken, beef bacon bits, boiled egg, cherry tomatoes, and black olives. The serving was big, that was my first impression. The lettuce was crispy but they could be more generous with the dressing. My favorite part was the garlic bread tuille that replaced the presence of croutons. Super addictive!
I initially opted for linguini pasta, it was not available so I shifted to spaghetti. The pasta was cooked well with good texture. On one hand, I loved that the dish was balanced in taste, garlicky and not overly spicy. On the other hand, I felt like the chicken was a tad dry. Plus point for the generous serving too.
Overall, Goodstone seems to have the potential with its Instagrammable spot and rather extensive menu. The food items that we tried felt a bit run-of-the-mill though, suggesting that they were trying to play safe. With its laid-back atmosphere, Goodstone Dine makes a decent spot for lunch and dinner, especially if you come in groups. The prices are a tad steep, but still reasonable considering the food quality and service.
