Opus Ex Animo, Sidoarjo

Opus Ex Animo is a new addition to the DPR we gang gang cafe enclave that serves coffee in a comforting setting. If you are on the hunt for a quiet place for healing (like how netizens say), Opus Ex Animo fits the bill perfectly.

We came here in the morning and its aesthetic completely won us over. It had the vibe of a villa in Bali with its lush garden, fish pond and wooden patio. The exterior itself reminded me of cafes in Thailand that often appeared in my Pinterest. 

Going up to the outdoor roof area, you will be greeted with the view of lalang fields. There is definitely a plenty of opportunities here to capture some good pics for the 'Gram!

V60 Japanese - IDR22,000

For the single origin manual brew, we chose Pomelo bean which possessed a hint of floral and dried fruit notes. It was both well-made and well-extracted.

Ice Latte - IDR24,000

The iced latte came with double shot of espresso, cold milk and ice (duh). The coffee had a nutty aroma, creamy yet with a bitter profile. It was indeed an antidote for sunny days, especially after all the morning drive.

Fish Finger with Barbeque Mayo - IDR27,000

Albeit simple, the fish finger impressed me with its crunchiness and non-fishy flavor. The fish meat was so soft that it literally melted in my mouth, great to go with the savory BBQ mayo. Undoubtedly one of the best fish fingers I'd had so far.

Kickstart your day at this cafe which offers a quick caffeine fix for coffee junkies, light bites or mains if you want something more substantial. Good vibes guaranteed, and you can get some decent pics for your social medias too. Kill two birds with one stone, as the saying goes.
