Labore Black, Surabaya
Originated from Malang, Labore Black is a small cafe in the middle of Rungkut residential area. The menu is rather limited — only drinks, croissant sandwiches, croffles, and a few selection of rice bowl available.
Black Earl Grey - IDR24,000
The earl grey was light, infused with sweet fragrance from the tea. A refreshing drink to enjoy over the hot weekend.
Caramel Butter - IDR25,000
The drink was pretty on point. The caramel butter sauce had a subtle hint of salty-sweetiness that did not overpower the coffee.
Cheese Fries - IDR18,000
What could go wrong with cheese fries? Lightly fried to a crisp, the cheese loaded fries was an ideal to snack on. The cheese sauce was the real star, which gave the fries a creamy and cheesy finish.
Croffle Cookies & Cream - IDR15,000
If you love croffle, you will enjoy this like I did. Coming in a petite size, the black-colored croffle was served with white cream and Oreo crumbs. The sweetness was thankfully not that overwhelming.
Overall, Labore Black is a casual cafe that serves okay-ish coffee and food in a clean environment. Although not as great as the regular Labore imho, it is still a good place to do some group work on a quiet morning.
