Another day, another cafe opening. Don't we already have enough? Nah, every time we think we have had enough, another cafe pops up and we fall in love all over again. Especially for the one with traditional Korean aesthetic like Haewoo Bakery & Coffee in Dharmahusada.

Haewoo boasts a traditional Korean 'hanok' look with the use of wooden and stone materials. The dining area is quite spacious, great for daytime chit-chat or quick dessert break. You can also grab some bread to take home in the bakery section.

Korean Strawberry Milk - IDR29,000

Strawberry milk (딸기 우유) is a trending beverage during springtime in Korea, and now you can get it here at Haewoo. I had always wanted to make this drink at home but my laziness to buy the ingredients always stopped me lol. It is an easy-to-make drink made of sugar-soaked strawberry puree finished with cold fresh milk. Stir everything together and you will get a creamy and refreshing strawberry milk.

Matcha Strawberry Roll Cake - IDR35,000

The roll cake was rather dry and I did not feel the balance between the bitter taste of matcha and sweetness of the cream, as how good matcha roll cake should be. In all honesty, I regret spending IDR35,000 on this one-dimensional treat.

Being a food-first person, I have a slim chance of returning to a certain cafe if the food ain't good. But with Haewoo's unique vibe that recreates the ambiance of Seoul in the 1990s, I would not mind coming back for some bingsu or bites. If you are a fan of anything Korean, I suggest you to include Haewoo in your cafe list.
