[Closed] Four Seeds Coffee, Surabaya
A good friend of mine and I made an impromptu catch up session whereby we picked Four Seeds Coffee as the venue. This cafe was chosen since it was probably the closest decent cafe to my house and my friend needed to rush for another appointment afterwards. Four Seeds Coffee occupies the second floor of Crab N Chef restaurant - after entering the main door, you will see a staircase on your right leading to Four Seeds Cafe.
The menu is straightforward, just a piece of wooden board with double-sided menu, one side for food and another one for beverage. Besides the main menu, there are 2 additional menu sheets for pasta and pancakes selections.
Being a huge fan of taro, my friend repeatedly praised her taro blend for having strong taro flavor and thick consistency.
Gotta give them an A for the presentation! Isn't it unbelievable that you only have to pay IDR23,000 to get such presentable coffee with nice latte art? They actually served the coffee on a specially-carved wooden tray along with iced water and small strawberry pudding. I mean, where else could you get your coffee served with dessert?! The hazelnut flavor was a bit faint, but the body had good acidity.
The portion came in a quite big serving for IDR40,000. This dish was well-cooked. The pasta was cooked to al dente, drenched with warm carbonara sauce which was not overly creamy.
The Cabana Pancake - IDR30,000
Unfortunately, the pancake was rather forgettable. It got the fluffy texture but it was tad dry. Some part of the pancake was not covered by the caramel sauce neither they provided any sauce on the side to pour on the pancake. Nonetheless, I like how the sweet banana slices and crunchy almond complemented each other.
I will certainly give them a second visit in the future, given the affordable pricing and cozy atmosphere. For those looking for reasonably-priced coffee with up-to-standard quality, I totally recommend Four Seeds Coffee.
