Random Eats: January - March 2021

Item: Tamago Ramen - IDR72,900
Location: Marutama Ra-Men (Galaxy Mall, Surabaya)
The ramen here uses chicken-based soup (no pork). The shio broth was slightly greasy but quite aromatic. The chicken chashu was okay, though I would prefer pork way much better hehe.

Item: Biscoff Crumbs - IDR25,000
Location: Kopi Kompleks (PanaHouse, Surabaya)
It would be better if bolder Biscoff taste was there. I think I'm being biased here since I love Lotus Biscoff too much hahaha.

Item: Mie Ayam Bakso
Location: Nangoma (PanaHouse, Surabaya)
I did not like the beef balls as they were too floury and bouncy. The noodle was just okay in general, there are a lot of better ones around.

Item: Salted Egg Chicken - IDR42,000
Location: SEC Bowl (Jl. Manyar Kertoarjo, Surabaya)
SEC Bowl is owned by a popular YouTuber Rius Vernandes. The dish features chunks of fried chicken drenched in salted egg sauce that was a tad watery to me. It carried a hint of sweetness that helped balancing the savoriness a little.

Item: Pangsit Mie Ayam - IDR12,000
Location: Mie Gajah Mada (Jl. Dr. Ir. H. Soekarno, Surabaya)
IDR12,000 mie ayam is a rare find nowadays, don't you agree? Though this dish did not fall under my favorites, I would still recommend this to anyone looking for cheap yet delicious eats in town.

Item: Bakso - IDR19,000
Location: Bakso Eddy (Jl. Soekarno-Hatta, Probolinggo)
Didn't get what's so special about this bowl of bakso coz it tasted just like the usual bakso to me haha. Anyway, the broth was packed with umami flavor and the beef balls were meaty.

Item: Chicken Curry - IDR24,000
Location: Homeland Cafe & Eatery (Jl. Soekarno-Hatta, Probolinggo)
The curry sauce was tasty and the batter-to-meat ratio of the chicken was good. You definitely gotta try this place when you are in Probolinggo!
