District 7 Coffee & Co., Surabaya

District 7 is an unpretentious cafe along Jl. Opak, hailed all the way from Jakarta. Recently I have noticed lots of eateries opening up in this area, though it is not regarded as a cool precinct like Citraland or East Coast haha. So I went to District 7 on the Independence Day holiday and the place was surprisingly quiet.

The interior of District 7 is bright and has a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. Order and payment are to be done at the counter, then the staff will bring the food to your table.

Pink Punch - IDR35,000
This is a good alternative if you are not in the mood for coffee. The lychee and pink syrup made a good harmony together.

Mango Yakult - IDR25,000
It was refreshing but the Yakult taste could be stronger.

Kopi Susu Aren - IDR20,000
The kopi susu cost IDR17,000 due to Merdeka Promo. It was a good cup of joe with a pleasant aftertaste.

Indomie Shake Fries - IDR35,000
Indomie is one comfort food that has been engraved in every Indonesian's heart for life. Even in a hipster coffee shop, I could not resist ordering Indomie haha. District 7 has stepped up the instant noodle game by combining it with fries. The more micin the better, there goes an Indo saying lol. Oh and if you are wondering what is inside the Indomie packaging, it's kerupuk haha.

Roller Bread Srikaya - IDR20,000
The cake looked luscious and it came with a generous amount of srikaya spread. It would go very well with hot coffee, if I ever ordered one haha.

Overall, I enjoyed my time at District 7. The food was interesting, service was friendly, and the vibe was great. I would certainly be back for more coffee and food they had to offer.
