Product Review: Moonshot Micro Correct Fit Cushion 301 Honey

Hey-ho all! It is my first time writing a review of a beauty product. You know, ever since this self-quarantine policy was imposed, I'd fallen into K-beauty shopping spree addiction. My K-beauty haul included serum, sheet masks, lip tint, cleanser and many more, but there was one special product that I would review: a BB cushion. I am totally impressed with how South Korea has raised the bar high for their beauty products, and how they keep inventing new things. I think one of South Korea's biggest invention for me is BB cushion, which has been a huge hit especially in the Asian market. It is basically a foundation in forms of compact cushion. You use the puff to press the cushion to get some amount of foundation and tap the sponge to your face just like how you apply face powder. As a girl, sometimes I find the regular liquid foundation inconvenient coz it can get messy and I still have to use the beauty blender - but now the existence of BB cushion really makes my life much easier.

Okay, back to the product review, so basically I bought a product from Moonshot called Micro Correct Fit Cushion. Every K-Poper should be familiar with Moonshot, I guess. Yup, Moonshot is a product launched by YG Entertainment, where they endorse Blackpink and G-Dragon. Actually they have a few types of cushion, but this Micro Setting Fit Cushion is claimed to be more moisture-driven as compared to the others.

The packaging is damn gorgeous! Super love the galaxy-inspired box (I love everything galaxy), it's too pretty to throw out.

My purple-and-galaxy-loving soul screamed out as I opened the packaging. No doubt, it's the coolest cushion ever. And don't you think that little astronaut logo looks cute?

Just like other cushions, Moonshot Micro Correct Fit Cushion comes handy with mirror and air puff inside. Of course you have to remove the protection sticker before use, or else the mirror will forever look blurry lol.

In case you want to replace the content, just push that button which will release the lid to put in a new refill inside the case.

Open up the lid on the right side and voila, the cushion is there. Make sure you close the lid tightly to prevent the cushion from drying out.

The squishy air puff has large pores that soak and release the cushion. Besides the pastel color, I like the teardrop shape of the puff that allows you to get into the little cracks like under your eyes more easily, rather than using round-shaped puff. The use of memory foam can also control the amount of cushion soaked so no worries of using the cushion excessively.

Testing the coverage of the product. This is the 'before' version.

The 'after' version

I bought the darkest shade, 301 Honey, as Korean cushion shades are normally too bright for Southeast Asian skin. The shade matches my skin color, and I can detect a bit of fragrance. As you can see from my 'before and after' pics, this cushion did a great job in covering blemishes and flaws on my skin. The finish is semi-matte and comfortable enough to use for long hours without 'extra topping' like face powder or concealer. It blends easily even in Indonesia humid weather like this. If you still need to use concealer, make sure to choose the concealer that does not have cakey or cracky effect on your face.

This cushion definitely has the wow factor to become my next holy grail (maybe next I should create my holy grail list haha). It also comes with SPF 50+/PA+++ so it is safe enough to skip sunscreen. Just like what the product description says, it is lightweight but high in coverage. Priced at IDR220,000 (sold at Moonshot Official Store in Shopee), I think it is quite a great deal for the quality. I will definitely purchase the refill once the product is finished hehe.
