Paradoks, Mojokerto
Whoever says that Mojokerto does not have any hipster-looking cafe should definitely check out Paradoks. It is located on Jl. Raya Ijen, which is not far from the city centre and Surabaya-Mojokerto expressway. After driving for almost an hour from Surabaya, we dropped by Paradoks in the morning for some light bites and of course, freshly brewed coffee.
Every nook and cranny of Paradoks looks Instagenic with industrial monochrome walls and abundance of natural light, perfect for aesthetic junkies. Do take note that they will charge you for bringing professional camera (DSLR) for commercial photoshoot. Just inquire to them via Instagram DM/phone regarding the booking price or something.
If you belong to the 'serious coffee drinker' crowd, you may find Paradoks' latte not suitable for your palate due to the excessive milkiness. Perhaps this explains the name 'Milky Way'.
Iced Coffee - IDR25,000
Iced Hazelnut Latte - IDR25,000
Calamari - IDR25,000
The calamari was a tad under-seasoned and floury for me, but it remained crunchy and did not turn soggy after a while. The squid was also not overly bouncy and it was easy to bite.

Overall, Paradoks is a decent dining spot although the prices are rather steep for a small town standard. If you are a cafe hopper but you have no idea where to go in Mojokerto, you should definitely put Paradoks on your list. Some improvement could be made on the items that we had, but I would say Paradoks had offered a spacious and relaxed place that is certainly worth another visit in the future.
