Random Eats: April - June 2016

Item: Salted Egg Chicken Rice
Location: Cui Xiang Yuan (Pek Kio Food Centre, Singapore)
Who could resist the temptation of salted egg dishes? The chicken bits were laden with creamy salted egg sauce and fragrant curry leaves. Da bomb!

Item: Nestle Green Tea KitKat Ice Cream - $2.30
Origin: Singapore
My school canteen sold this and I really love the green tea and chocolate flavors here. If only it was cheaper hais.

Item: Original Pretzel - IDR10,500
Location: Auntie Anne's (Trans Studio Mall, Bandung)
I really wish Auntie Anne's would open a new branch in Surabaya soon. The original pretzel itself was lightly salted, firm yet chewy. However, the pretzel could become soggy and tough after you leave it for a while, so you better have it freshly.

Item: Classic Mix - IDR32,000
Location: Hong Tang (Trans Studio Mall, Bandung)
We only ordered a bowl of dessert to share. A small cup of creamer is served separately, and this creamer makes the dessert sweeter and yummier. I thought I had chosen the right combination - everything tasted perfect here. The egg pudding was thick yet not too sweet, while the pearl and mochi were chewy in my mouth.

Item: Original-Nutella Soft Serve
Location: Shirokuma (bazaar in Surabaya)
Yay I finally got to try the famous Shirokuma from Jakarta through their pop-up store in Surabaya. The original-Nutella soft-serve was as sinful as its name. It was chocolatey and creamy with a hint of hazelnut.

Item: Black Sakura - IDR44,545 (regular size)
Location: Sour Sally (Galaxy Mall, Surabaya)
Before trying out my first spoonful of this black yogurt, I was rather doubtful that it would taste weird. It turned out there was not much difference from normal yogurt (except that it is black in color) - it only tasted slightly different and that difference was actually indescribable haha. This regular-sized yogurt came with 2 toppings. As usual, I was being loyal with Sour Sally's mochi (I have always had my Sour Sally yogurt with mochi ever since my first try, nothing beats their mochi so far!) and for the other topping I chose red devil sauce, which was strawberry and sakura sauce. This sauce added a touch of sourness that went along well with the sweet yogurt.

Item: Yamagoya Ramen - IDR58,000
Location: Yamagoya Ramen (Tunjungan Plaza 3, Surabaya)
This ramen consists of noodle, tonkotsu soup, pork chashu, tamago, nori, spring onion and bamboo shoots. The broth was rich of porky flavor, completed with tender charsiu and runny-centered tamago.

Item: Red Velvet & Green Tea KitKat - IDR75,000 (large size)
Location: Terang Bulan Hepi (Jl. Ngagel Jaya, Surabaya)
The terbul came in half red velvet and half green tea plus shredded KitKat on top (you better don't start counting the calories). The texture was pretty good - thick, moist and fluffy. The KitKat topping was generous too!
