South Korea Trip: Day 3
Good morning Seoul! We woke up earlier today coz we needed to pack our stuffs. We were going to move to another hotel which was still within Seoul city.
Breakfast in hotel restaurant. The omelette was like the smallest I have ever had in my entire life haha. The bacon was super crispy, love it!
Another reason we woke up earlier was because we were going to go to ski resort today. The ski resort is located in Pyongchang, which is about 2 hours driving from Seoul. We stopped for a while at 입장 휴게소 (Ipjang Rest Area). Went to the restroom and inside were all ajummas (older woman) who seemed to be going to ski resort as well. Nothing much to see here - most tenants sell food, but I managed to buy a furry hat (that looks like Pororo's helmet) for my friend.
As we arrived at Yongpyong Ski Resort (this is also the location where Winter Sonata's filming took place), we rented the ski equipment. The ski shoes connected to the ski board was damn heavy! It is harder to walk on it compared to ice skating shoes. And boy, skiing was hard! Steering using the ski stick was so difficult, it took a lot of energy to keep pushing it backwards. The ski session was 2 hours, but after one hour I gave up already.
Tired of skiing, I refilled my energy by having lunch at a food court inside Dragon Plaza. It is the place where the ski equipment rental is located.
I had bulgogi burger (₩19,500). The taste was not really different from usual beef burger, except that they used bulgogi sauce instead of ketchup.
We headed back to Seoul, and it was already dark when we reached. We then had dinner at a small shopping centre in Mapo.
We had vegetable shabu-shabu for dinner. There was not any meat here, only varieties of greens, beancurd, mushrooms, a bowl of rice and instant ramyun. Vegetarians would love it, but not me.
After dinner, we checked in to our new hotel, Novotel Ambassador Gangnam. Judging from the name, you should know where it is located. Now lemme end this day 3 post abruptly haha.
